Isidora Gajic

Isidora Gajic aims to transform feelings and relationships into photographs. Using images as a form of visual poetry, she blurs fiction and documentary and explores themes such as the feminine energy, birth of nature, culture, daily moods, fairy tales, and the passing of time. She creates handmade books, image collages, and multimedia visual dialogues with photographs.

Born in 1988 in Belgrade, Serbia, she grew up in Hungary and Switzerland. After finishing secondary education, she moved to Holland, where she graduated with an MFA at the FotoFactory school of photography in Amsterdam.

Isidora has exhibited throughout Brazil, the Netherlands, Serbia, and Latvia at venues such as SESC in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; KCG cultural center in Serbia; Art Pavilion Cvijeta Zuzoric ULOS, Belgrade; and ISSP Latvia – gallery & museum of photography. Solo shows in Rio de Janeiro at Gallery Silvia Cintra + Box 4 and in Sao Paulo at Gallery Wickbol. She won the Dutch Talent Award in 2012 (GUP Publications) and was artist in residence at the ISSP in Latvia (2012), and with artist Miguel Rio Branco in Brazil (2014-2016).
